What's going on?

I'm sure some of you are wondering about that... I've been a bit quiet for a while!

So I made a step forward with my business in 2015, and started providing printed versions of my hand painted tees (scanned directly from the originals). This was to provide a more affordable option for people, and to help me stay somewhat sane while trying to paint a million t-shirts all at once.

I had plans to travel around the country (especially to Auckland - where KilowattKatie started) to the Armageddon Expos and various Art & Craft events. I also had a lot of ideas drawn up and roughs made for new designs and new products.

Unfortunately, not long after that, things took a step sideways when a sudden health issue threw a spanner in the works.

It's an up-and-down story, but the long and short of it is that I am unable to do any more regular markets or large expos for a while, and I am unable to keep stocking my printed tees for a while too. Therefore I am clearing almost all of my printed stock!

So I am re-shuffling my studio and my life - and KilowattKatie is going old-school again! I am returning to just hand painting t-shirts to order.

I will always keep a small number of both hand painted and printed tees on hand, and I will also take printed tee orders at any time. My prints and my mum's Lost For Words prints will still be available as well.

And I will keep making new designs!

Happening Things

  • COMICS! I completed my very first one in April 2017, and it was on display at the Lysaght Watt Gallery as part of their annual Art Awards show. More comics to come!

  • MAKEOVER! Brand new Kilowatt the Fantail logo for 2017. She's gone pink. And more, er, worried.

  • PRINTS! I am looking in to getting my prints framed - so you can hang them on your wall straight away. I will get some feedback from you guys about this first.

  • CHARITY TEES! I have been chit-chatting with MS Taranaki about the possibility of creating t-shirts for them - to help raise funds and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis in the region. I will let you know how things go!
